The Chamber is committed to offering consistent, affordable training and education on timely topics based on member business needs.

Chamber YOUniversity will offer four or more lunch ‘n learn opportunities or other scheduled seminars on marketing, leadership, management and other important business topics each year.

Leadership Fremont

Leadership Fremont, presented by First State Bank and Trust, is a learning experience for local business men and woman.  During the nine-month program, participants will get an in-depth view of emerging community issues, will be informed of community involvement and service groups, and will acquire skills training designed for community leaders.

Leadership Fremont is a series of presentations to inform and develop current leaders and potential leaders of local companies and civic organizations for the enhancement of the Fremont area.

The series is limited to no more than 20 participants in each class.  Applications for Leadership Fremont are accepted in August for sessions held once a month October through June.  Tuition for Leadership Fremont is $500.00 per participant for Chamber members, $650.00 per participant for non-Chamber members, and $495.00 for qualifying non-profits. Tuition is frequently paid by the participants’ employer or sponsoring organization. A $25.00 tuition voucher will be given to participants who part for businesses that bank with the Leadership Fremont presenting sponsor, First State Bank and Trust Co. Partial scholarships are available through the Leadership Fremont Association.  For assistance in approaching your supervisor and organization to approve the costs of attending Leadership Fremont, CLICK HERE.

Founded in 2010, the Leadership Fremont Association is a self-sustaining organization dedicated to and made up of graduates of Leadership Fremont.  Its mission is to provide alumni with programs and services that will enable them to make the Fremont area a better place to live, work and play.

Youth Leadership Academy

          

Youth Leadership Academy, presented by the Fremont Tribune is a program that inspires and trains “the next generation” of community leaders.

This program is directed at high school juniors in the Fremont trade area that will inform, develop leadership skills, and encourage community involvement.  Over the course of an entire year students, with their Leadership Fremont mentors, will participate in monthly field trips to learn about city government, state government, business and industry and variety of other topics.

Participants will have demonstrated an interest in volunteerism, character building activities, including school extracurricular activities, and will have consistently performed well academically.

Each class is limited to 25 students.  Applications for Youth Leadership Academy are accepted each May, where students will go through an interview and selection process.  Sessions are held once a month October through May.  The title sponsor and student tuition, $295, covers all costs associated with the program including educational materials, meals, transportation, graduation banquet, diploma, and a YLA branded polo shirt.  Students often pay for their tuition from their part-time job income, sponsors, services clubs, employers, or parents.  Partial scholarships are available on a need basis.  For more information, click this link for a brochure, or contact Bonnie Nebuda at bnebuda@fremontne.org.

Greater Fremont Business Incubator

The Greater Fremont Business Incubator (GFBI) will provide a rich array of new entrepreneurship education and coaching opportunities to encourage business start-ups, sustainability and growth in Dodge County.  The GFBI will serve as a portal – both physical and virtual – bringing education customized to the needs of the Dodge county area.  This includes outreach, with workshops and coaching.

The virtual incubator will also provide access to educational offerings anywhere in the County through an online portal for webinars, podcasts, and access to technical assistance and other educational and coaching resources.  Educational activities will promote the next generation of entrepreneurship through events for young entrepreneurs and Jump Start Boot Camp.

At the same time, the GFBI will provide customized education and coaching to support existing businesses that may be struggling with the current economic downturn, business transfer, identifying new markets and a range of other challenges to business success.  This training will occur through workshops, conferences and one-on-one coaching.
